I just arrived in Vancouver and it is cold and rainy. It made me realize I have never been to Vancouver when it hasn’t been raining. The last time I was here was on my way to heli-skiing west of Banff. I don’t think my customer meeting will be that exciting.
The rain reminded me of one of my favorite Douglas Adam’s characters (I miss Douglas). I can’t remember which book in the series he appears in but there is this man who hates rain. He is so obsessed with hating he has developed 400 names for different types of rain. The story follows him for a bit while he drives and swears about the rain and then you find out that he unknowingly is the rain god. The clouds love him and all they want to do is water him. I thought that was such a fantastic alternative to the Greek gods who have mastered their medium. Instead, just a man, who the clouds want to water. Delightful.
The only flight back I could find tonight after 6pm was a flight through Vegas. I haven’t figured out if Matt and I have time during the layover to make a run for the tables. Is there an expense category for gambling losses?

if so Bob Brown would know it. and the limits on it.
