Dear Scott,

Ladder to the Moon is an interactive community theatre company based in South London that creates theatre for those that would not normally experience it. All our work seeks to enrich, empower and enliven the people we create our work for and with, and we firmly believe in the importance of fun for its own sake!

We are looking for two black actors to play interactive, walkabout street theatre characters for a one day celebration of Black History Month in Clapham Junction:

Ebe - Guardian of Clapham Junction, ethereal being who brings wisdom and joy to the shoppers in Clapham Junction. Actress (20 - 50) must be confident improviser with experience of interacting in character with general public, must have strong physicality, average build.

Sent - Traveller from another galazy who has come to find the answers to his mystery scroll of names as part of a rite of passage. With the help of shoppers and Ebe discovers that these are the names of important black leaders, scientists, artists etc. who have used their skills to change the world. Sent discovers these through Ebe putting him into various trances to become these characters (Shirley Bassey is always popular). Actor (20 - 40) must be confident improviser with experience of interacting in character with general public, strong physicality, slim build.

3 full days rehearsal (to be arranged around actors current commitments as far as possible) plus one days performance on Saturday 9th October. Payment £270
