Short Latte

Posted on Saturday 3 March 2007

If you aren’t price conscious (like me), I bet you have never heard of the “short” size at Starbucks. That is because it isn’t on the menu, or in any Starbucks literature. The unlisted size serves price conscious customers because it is cheaper and it makes them feel like they are getting a deal. Those that aren’t price conscious, but just want a small drink, happily pay for the smallest on the menu (Tall?).

Sometimes maximizing profits takes creativity.

Update: Chris pointed out in the comments I already blogged about this. Please ignore this post. My earlier post was much wittier. This blog is going to hell in a hand basket.

I’ve heard of it because you blogged it a year ago in your post “The Ends Justify the Coffee” :-) You should know your avid readership would never let something like that slip. I’m going to start a metablog that just talks about your blog so we can overanalyze things like they do about Lost!
