Arrington declares world fully invented

In a post on Techcrunch today, Michael Arrington, the great hyperbolist, declared,

“While plenty of startups are launching, we aren’t seeing any actual innovation any more. There just isn’t the “wow” factor around new startups like in 2004/2005. That does not bode well for the future - there just isn’t anything left to invent.[emphasis mine]

A lot is going on that doesn’t bode well for the future. Running out of things to invent, just ain’t one of them.

Update: turns out this was an early Techcrunch April Fools Joke, which I fell for like a total sucker. The funniest part is it took ValleyWag to point it out. Sigh…
