&lt;p&gt;I found someone who kindly posted the directions to include&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;pop &#039;pop.googlemail.com&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
user &#039;recent:myusername@mydomain.com&lt;br /&gt;
password &#039;my password&#039;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And it will not pass the pop verification....&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;ARGGGG!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So, thank you for this very useful tip...&lt;/p&gt;
